Grading

Grading is probably the most important aspect to your entire paving job. Grading is the process of ensuring a level base in the construction of your driveway or parking lot. Grading also takes place during the construction of your home’s lawn and property, when roads are constructed, and more. In order to grade in the preparation of laying an asphalt driveway or parking lot, the land must be cut or filled, leveled, and appropriately pitched to allow for water run off. The driveway’s sub-grade needs to be adequate, this creates a strong foundation for the driveway and ensures the grade we create is consistent and effective. A finished asphalt driveway is only as good as it’s sub-grade, that’s the base. Grading needs to allow water to drain properly, this is critical and to prevent pooling water, grade and pitch should be done by a professional.
